Rain & Rain

We have rain in Tulum most of the day but it did not stop Lighthouse Church. We had a wonderful service today with 30 people and even some new faces. It was nice to be with every one and worship together. With the rain we are just staying in and watching a movie and working on the computers.
Did locate a few new places where we can house large teams and the cost is not bad. We want to support as much of the local people as we can when we have teams. This will also give us and them a time to share with their host.
We think we have a very good mission project for a lady in the church that needs some work done on her home in Playa. This type of project is to large for a 4 person team so we will be looking for a large construction team sometime this year. We will be putting out pictures and a budget for the work so everyone can see what needs to be done. I know God will bring the people and funds needed to complete this project.

Resting and Cleaning the Truck

Wow, we had a great time at the beach yesterday got a little sun burn so we are going to get ready for church today and rest. We have to clean the truck out as we have not done that since we moved from Playa. It's not bad but will be nice to have a clean truck again.
We have been working on getting all the tax information together and hope we work on it again next week. Last week we put together information on different places where large teams could stay and started a project list of work that these team could do. This project list will grow over time and we can fit the teams to the project.
Renee' and I are working on our spanish ( one word a day) it's a slow process but we are having fun with it. Please keep us in prayer as we look for a bigger building for church, work with the people here in Tulum, and that we stay in the center of God's will.
We love and miss you all!!!!

God at Work & Emergency Response Work

Renee' was talking with a lady this week and with the cool weather we have been having the local people are not use to it. They need coats and socks to keep warm so when we where unpacking all the boxes we just did not understand why we brought all the winter coats and socks some of them still in the packages. Now we know why God is good. This lady is going to let us know when she see's the need again (as it has warmed up) and God will meet it.

We are starting to work on a needs list for our "Emergency Response Work" as of now we are pricing out generators, water purification system, tools, flash lights, and fans. We want to be a safe place where people can come for help. Here it is not if we will need these items but when will we need them! This will all take time and funds as we can purchase most of the items here.
Our prayer is that you will join us in this important ministry and show the love of God in a very practical way to those in need.

One more thing we are looking for is a satellite phone that we could use in an Emergency. With no power and not the best cell service this would be important. You can email us at mission-man@live.com

Day to Day

As we get to living day to day there is still a little feeling of what are we doing? Trusting God with everything is something we have talked about for a long time. We know that everything we have is his and we are grateful each day for what God is doing in our lives but that little voice is sometimes still saying " Your not the person" to be doing this work. We know in our heart that we are where God wants us and we have to take one step at a time. Boy, if we could just see the whole picture but then where would trusting God come in?
God has provided us with a wonderful home, food, truck, people to love us, people to care for, a wonderful church plant, support from friends for our ministry, and a wonderful team in Anchorage that gives us incouragement to stay the course.
We love and miss you all and pray that God will bless you as we live for Him!

Getting To Work

Wow, we started to work on Monday and it was nice to start a new schedule. Spent the day on paying bills, going through paper work from the trip down, setting up files, and getting the office set up.

We are still in awe of what God has given us, it's so much more then we had prayed for. God has blessed us and we will use these gifts to bless others. Still don't have all the boxes unpacked but that is OK, we will work on them a little each day. That way we can put thing away as we unpack and not have stuff stacked all over the house.

Setting up house in Mexico is a little different. If you don't have something it maybe 4 hours away round trip to Cancun if you can't find it in Tulum or you maybe able to locate it in Playa which is 2 hours round trip, So planning is very important. Most items we have found in Tulum and that is a real blessing as the drive can get old fast.

We do have to go to Cancun Wed. to Home Depot for some house items and will stop at Costco just because we are there. Then we may stop at Sam's in Playa on the way back to check on Renee's pills.

Please pray for us as we start ministry here in Tulum and that we keep God in the center of what ever we do.

We are moved in!!! That is not to say we are unpacked. Did get a very good start today and should have some kind of plan Sat. We are going to hold off a little as we have to spray for some bugs and that may take a couple of days. This is so much more then we had ever planned. God has just bless us each step of the way on our travels and here in Mexico. We are going to make a run to the store to pick up just a few item we missed in playa the other day but nothing bad. We should have the house ready in a week or so let us know what your plans are to come down. There is alot of work to be done and we can have a little rest time and fun along the way. We have found several good places to eat and we are going to check out the beach next friday. Drop us a email as we love to get them and keep up with all the news. Love to All !!!!

Where In Tulum!!!!!! 1-1-2010

Yesterday was a long day up at 6:00am all the cars packed and where on the road at 8:00am to Tulum. Renee' and Debbie stayed at the Hills Condo while Terry and I went back to Playa to get the last items out ot the house.

We did get the Sky TV installed yesterday (right on time) which in Mexico is an answer to prayer. We will be praying for the internet installer as they should be here the 4th. Right now we have internet via a USB Stick that works off the cell signal. Works well and we have internet so things are good.

We wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR AND OUR PRAYER IS THAT GOD WILL BLESS EACH.
