Dry and Warm!!!!

Ok, the storm has passed and we are dry and in the house....We made it through our first (not our last) storm of this season. It's still cloudy with some light rain but nothing like Sunday. We really got wet and you should have been at church what a day.....Renee' and I took the music team back to Playa after church we thought it was going to be a long trip but it worked out not bad at all.
Did get home to water in the living room (came in the window casing) this was the first time we had water come in there. No other leaks and we are dry today.... Looks like 9.35" of rain in the last 24 hours it sure seems like we got more than that Sunday...
Found out we need a few things in the house just to be ready more towels, another bucket and mop, and a big floor fan.
All in All things went good it is different living here we know God is going to take care of us...

Trop. Storm Alex!!!

Just a little rain today!!!!! Alex is not here yet but we are getting rain bands that are coming through ever 20 min. or so. The winds are going to pick up later this afternoon. Did drive to Playa this morning to pick up material for church and it was raining most of the way. All the roads here are flat with very little or no drainage so it is like driving on ice. Just another day in Mexico!!!!

Fast Trip to Playa

Wow, we made a fast trip into Playa today with friends from Tulum. They had not been out of
Tulum for 2 years so we took them with us to get a few things. Made a stop at Sam's for Terry,
Lunch at McD's, Paint store to order stain ( you have to order it here they do not stock anything)
then to the Mall to pick up church material.
Did get stopped in Playa by the police they just wanted to say "Hi" and let us go. They asked if
we where from Alaska (truck has Alaska Plates) and we said "Yes" and that was it... We just
drove away and smiled. All in a days travel in Mexico!!!!

Church Sunday

What a blessing that we have such a wonderful new place to meet. Las Iguanas is wonderful as we have more room and a area for the children to meet. We had 36 in church sunday with great music and a little wind just to keep us cool. We are going to go with the Wed. night small group this week to dinner at Las Iguanas to help them with their business at dinner it's going to be a
lot of fun.
Working this week on material listing for the men's center new water tower and getting another
material list together to get our wall project in Playa off the ground. We are praying for a team
from Texas in Aug. to help with this project.
We are still looking for more community projects in Tulum and hope to connect with the right
people to get more pending projects listed. It just take time and we are trusting God to provide
materials and funds for these projects and others.
Please pray for us as we are away from family and friends we miss them every day.

Trip North

As we pray about our trip to Alaska we want to be used by God to touch peoples hearts for our mission here in Mexico. We are working to be a light of hope and model the love of Jesus to the
people we touch everyday.
We are in process of getting ready for our hurricane season the best we can and trusting God for his provisions. There is not alot we can do other than make sure we have a supply of water and food, flashlights, candels, and some plywood for the windows/doors.
We are looking at being a spot in our community where everyone can come for help in case of a
hurricane. There are not alot of places (if any) where people could go for needed items so will are planning on using the house as a safe point in the jungle where we can help as we can. We know that God will provide the materials needed for this very important ministry.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone in Alaska and are counting the days until we fly back
to the Great Land!!!!
