We have Ek Balam Hammocks!

One of the ways we are trying to help the people of Ek Balam and come along side of Debi Morris is by purchasing " Hammocks" that are made in the village. On our last trip to Ek Balam Abba Casa Ministries purchased three double stich hammocks that we are going to have here in Tulum and will sell them at cost of 550.00 pesos or 44.00 USD. We want to have these here for mission team to purchase and them we can in turn purchase another three from the village. In this way we are supporting the business within the village and giving them another outlet for their hammocks. These are hand made, very nice with different colors and you will be making a big difference in the lives of people. So please pray for this outreach and the village of Ek Balam.
If you not on a mission team to mexico and still want a hammock just let us know and we can send it back with the next team coming down!!!!

Tulum Men's Mission Update

Renee' and I stopped over at the Men's Mission and the new water tower (cement blocks) is going up. It looks great and they should have it completed within the next week or so. The church is going to provide 40 more blocks and 2 bags of cement that should have the tower up and water running. In talking with the Pastor we may look at helping with a pump so they can
fill the water tank with out having to use buckets.
We will post pictures just as soon as they have the project completed. Please pray for this wonderful ministry.

Ek Balam Mission

Wow what a experience! We made our first trip to Ek Balam last week with Debi Morris of "Hope For Ek Balam" and we came away changed. As with most mission we think we are going to help other and we in turn are the one's that are changed. Ek Balam is a Mayan Village about 2 hours northeast of Tulum set out in the jungle and is a very peaceful small village. We got to see the grade school and the clinic (small white building in photo), and meet with people in the homes. The people are open and want to improve their village. Debi has been working in Ek Balam for over 3 years and has done a wonderful job spending weeks or months working with the people and leaders.
We did take one of the water treatment kit's we had with use and put it in a home where Debi stay's on her trips to see it the people will use it for drinking water and cooking water. We think it will make a big difference in the way they keep their water and cut down on illness.
Pastor Terry and I did a one night teaching on Small Groups and their importance and will do this again as any teaching is a benefit and we gave our teaching notes to Debi so she can do the same teaching.
Over the next couple of weeks we will be praying about how God wants us to help Debi and her work in Ek Balam. There is alot that could be done to meet the practical needs in the village.
These needs range from first aid kits, water treatment, solar ovens, healthy cooking classes, first aid /Cpr classes, and training for medical and hair lice treatment. This is only a partial list of needs and Debi is putting together her top 10 list of things that need to be done.
What a wonderful opportunity for us to show God's love and help where we can. We are looking forward to another trip to see our friends in Ek Balam with Debi.

Much Better Day!!!

A good nights sleep does wonders....We feel much better today.....
Last night we had our first New Small Group and it was over the top. Had six people a good study and meat loaf dinner. We are studying the Foundations study of " The Church" it's a very good basic study as we have new believers in this group so if fit in very well.
We started working on our FM3's visas yesterday and should have all the paper work together next week. It takes about a month to get the visas which let's us stay a year without having to go out of the country and we don't have to get the truck a new sticker.
We are taking a water filter system ( point of use) to Ek Balam Friday for one of the houses there to see if the people will use it. If they will it would give them clean drinking water and then we can see about putting one in each house. This would be a real blessing for everyone in the village.
We are praying for couples and teams to come and work with us and catch the vision that God is working here in Tulum. Our Vacation with a Purpose Mission work is a wonderful way to get a little rest and see what the mission field is all about. We would love to show you our Tulum.

Long Day!!!!

Ok, we know that we live in Mexico and it's a wonderful place. At times it can be just well let's say " It Is What It Is"!!!!
Tues. we got up and we where getting set to drive to Cancun and the power goes out. Now this is going to happen in Mexico and you just go with it. The Power was out for 17 hours that means NO A/C, NO LIGHTS, NO COOKING, NO WATER PRESSURE, AND IT'S HOT!!!! We got our power back at 12:00am Wed. Thank You God!!!
We made it to Cancun to get the new tag's for the truck only to find out we now have to drive to the border to get the tag's. We asked why things have changed and was told they did not know why. So now we are looking at getting our FM3's so we don't have to get the tag's any more. This will be a process for us but we think it's the best thing to do at this point in time.
We are getting things set up for our small group tonight we are looking forward to the fellowship and dinner.
Please keep us in prayer we love and miss you all.....

Wonderful Day!!!!!

Wow, we had a over the top day at church with 46 people, out of sight worship and 101 class. This would be hard to top!!!!!! The sun came back today and it's 90F with a little wind. Looks like the clouds may come back later this afternoon so that will cool things off a little.
We have to run into Cancun this week to get our new sticker for the truck and may stop at Costco just depends on how much time we have. We are looking forward to two couples coming in next month for a week of rest and mission work.
We are going out to Ek Balam with Terry and Debbie later this week to check out working with the village. There is alot of need there and we hope to come along side the work that is being done there by Debbie Morris. This will be our first trip for us as the Hill's took a group out while we where in Alaska. We are looking forward to see how God will use us.
