Summer Is Back in Tulum

After a couple of weeks of cool weather we are back in the heat. We had been running in the high 60's in the morning which was nice and now we are back in the low 80's in the morning. You would think it would not make a difference but it does. As the sun gets up we heat up all day so the A/C comes on just for a little while.
It will be nice to get back into some cooler mornings and setting out on the deck with our coffee.

We Just Got Rain

The storm (Richard) passed us to the south all we had is rain with a little wind yesterday. We are in a good place as the storms go on either side of Tulum so they say. Church was over the top Sunday with 58 people and the rain did not start until we got home.
We are going to purchase the pipe and valves to install the water system at the men's mission this week. One of the owner here at the condo installed a new water pump and he has given us the one he took out. It works great and will do the job for the water system.
We are still working on a material list and cost est. for the house in Ek Balam as well as repairing the wall in Playa.
Hope the sun comes out later today so we can try and dry out!!!!!

Power Is Nice

We are so blessed to have the generator here. The power was out for 11.5 hours yesteray so we had to fire up the power. Had the frig, lamp, and fan running and it all worked. The house is all electric so when there is no power we can run anything. For our first time running the generator it worked well we do have to pick up another 3 way plug outlet then we could run another fan. The big thing is to keep the frig cold so we don't lose all the food. This is such a blessing we just don't have the words.....Thank you God for touching peoples hearts......

What a Year!

Renee' and I are humbled by the prayers and support that everyone has given us over the past year. The 26th of October will be our one year mark for being on the mission field in Mexico. A lot has happened in the past 12 months since we departed Anchorage for a trip across the states renewing friendships and making all the stops to see family. We had a wonderful seven weeks of travel seeing new places and meeting many new people.
As we look back over the last year we can see God going before us paving the way and we give him all the glory. The trip from Texas through Mexico was one of new experinces and al ot of laughs as Pastor Terry really tried to get me to drive just a little faster. Once we where in Playa there was another set of new experinces we had learning to drive in the city, finding our way around, and trying to learn the money,
and the big one just trying to learn spanish. I can't express how loving the people here are and when we try to speak to them they are more than willing to help us understand the words we are trying to say. We have learned to speak with a lot of hand signals and we all get a good laugh.
Once we moved to Tulum and got our feet on the ground we started working on small groups and connecting with a men's mission here. Through your support we have been able to help the mission with a new cooking area, new water tower, and next week we will help with a water pump and piping to the showers.
We have connected with another missionary here and we are working with her in the Mayan Village of Ek Balam. We hope to provide every home with a safe drinking/cooking water suppy. We have one system in place and want to see if this type of system will work in the village. We are also working on building a small house in the village where the missionary can stay when she is in the village. Now she sleeps in a storage room.
As our church has grown this past year we have had opportunities to show God's love in meeting the needs of people within our church and the community. There are a lot of people just living day to day with not a lot of hope.
Each of you are a vital part of the work God is doing in Mexico through the support we get from the states. We thank God every day for touching your heart for the people here in Mexico. This mission field may be a long ways away from you but you are making it possible for us to serve God and make a difference in the lives of people.
Renee' and I cannot express how much each of you touch our hearts and pray that God will continue to use us.
If you want to support God's work here in Mexico we have attached our support address. We invite you to be a part of this mission field.
