Playa Run

Friday was a travel day to Playa to get a few things we left the house at 8:30am and got back about 4:00pm. It's an all day thing and boy we where tired. We met Chris and Donna for lunch and it was wonderful to see them again. They where in our shoes the last time we saw them. They now are back in the states working and we are here in Mexico. We sure miss them and they are very good friends.
We have the music playing as we are getting things ready for church. There is alot to get done when you have church out of a van. Everyone does such a wonderful job in helping God has blessed us with good people.
We had our first couple stay with us and it went very well. We see a few area's where we need to improve and it's always a moving target. There is just alot to get done when you have people staying with you.
We are going to try and get to the pool this afternoon if the weather holds it's windy today with a few clouds but not as cold as yesterday.

First Guest in the House

We have our first guest in the mission house this week. Wow, is there a lot to get done and stay on top of. We have a couple from church that are renting their home out for a week so they are staying with us here in the mission house. They are helping us do a shake down of what we can do better. We had Terry and Debbie over for dinner last night and a good time was had by all!!!
This week we have to try and confirm our meeting place for church. The place where we were meeting closed. This seems to be the norm here where a place will be open then close without any word at all. We see this ( a place to meet ) the biggest problem here. Just have to keep praying and trusting that God will provide.
Just a little over a month before Renee' and I are off to Florida for 10 days to see her Dad and Brother. We have to go out to get our new visa's and we are going to try and get our FM3's in Florida when we are there. That would give us a year visa not just 180 days. That would be nice but will wait and see what happens.
Off to get ready for staff meeting we love and miss you all! Please drop us a note when you can we love to get them.

Friday Update Tulum

Renee' has taken some update photo's of our home and I wanted to get them posted. We have been blessed to have such a nice place to live and work from.

Today is friday our day off but the weather is cool with a little rain so we are staying in. Getting a few things done and postings we have not done in a while.

Looking forward to Terry and Debbie coming in tonight late so we are driving to Cancun to pick them up. Not like Anchorage, it is a 4 hour round trip. It will be good to have them back in Mexico. We are working on incoming teams and have located 2-3 places where they can stay. We are working on projects in the community and around the Casa (Mission House). Still trying to adjust to living in Mexico each day brings new things to overcome.

Monday and Rain

Hi, it's a little rain today and only 77F so we are getting things done inside. Wanted to thank everyone for your prayers last sunday. The message went well and we had 39 people in church. We have new faces each week as people learn where the church is and what we are trying to do here in Tulum. I am thankful that God used me sunday to try and touch other for Christ.
We had the bug man come last week so now we are see a few bug's around the house not bad and it seems to get better each time we have it done.
Looking forward to Terry and Debbie coming back Friday we miss them and so does Timber. I must admit that Timber is the best dog I have seen in a long time. We have had fun with him but he does miss mom and dad!!!!

Prayers for Sunday the 14th

I have a request if you would pray for me this Sunday the 14th as I am filling in for Pastor Terry and doing the sermon. This will be my first time giving the message and I am a little nervous.
I know in my heart God is going to be there with me and He will give me the words to say to touch peoples hearts for Christ. Title is Life's Transitions or God's Plan vs. My Plan.

Super Party For The Game!

The dark picture is our screen it's the wall of Terry's condo. We have to see if we can get a bigger one next year.

Wow, we had a great time watching the game with everyone from the condo's, people from church, and new friends from around the area. A good time was had by all.... Maybe next year you can join us at the pool!!!!!

Living In Tulum Update

Hola,

Each day is another adventure living here going to the store, looking for lumber, having to purchase water, and trying to understand the culture. It can become overwhelming if you
try and take it all in at once. We know that God is not going to give us more than we can
handle so we place our trust in Him and just take it one day at a time. Our prayer is Lord
what do you want us to learn today? How can we show your love to others and be a light
in this mission field.
We have found that we can get most everything we need here in Tulum but we do have to go
to Playa (the big city) for some items. Playa is only about one hour away but we make a day
trip out of it and we fill the truck.
We have new people coming in(where we live) all the time so we do have the opp0rtunity to invite them to church and talk with them about what we are doing here. People are taken back when they
see the Alaska Plates on the truck that opens the door for conversation. Renee' is much better
at this than I but God is working with me on this. I think this is one of the open doors that we
can use to bring people to Jesus. Sometimes we miss the people that God has put in front of
us even here we have to be willing to set aside our plan for God's plan.
All in all we are doing fine trying each day to live for Jesus and praying that we are in the middle
of His will.
We love and miss you all!!!!
